Flowering Succulent Sliceform Card

Here's a friendly all-occasion sliceform card. It is suitable for Valentine's Day, birthdays, get well, thanks - or simply "hi". It is easy to make for a sliceform - it's all about the slots. Folds flat for posting (fits into a C6 envelope).

Here's your free Flowering Succulent Sliceform:

Strictly speaking, a Schlumbergera is a Christmas cactus - but those cactus flowers are so pretty - why not year-round?

For how-tos, check out this link to a previous post.

Some of us have green fingers, others are papercrafters. Enjoy. :D

Russian Doll Sliceform Card

This Russian Doll-inspired sliceform card can be used as a Valentine - or as a birthday or anytime card. It is fun to make and has wow-factor.

Here's your free print-and-cut sliceform:

Russian_Doll_Sliceform_Card.pdf

The card is a simplified sliceform - so not too tricky to make. It's all about the slots! Important to remember: glue front and back of like dolls together with edges matching, cut out the slots - they have width (don't just cut slits). For more detailed how-tos, check out this earlier sliceform project.

Nested Russian Doll Valentine

Here's an interactive Valentine. The nested dolls tuck into the apron pocket of the largest doll. All three dolls are double-sided. There's a gift tag, too.

Here's your free Valentine print-and-cut:

To assemble, stick the apron pocket tabs onto the back of the largest doll. Affix the largest doll back onto the flip side, concealing the tabs. Fold the two smallest dolls in half on the crease, stick together. Tuck the dolls into the pocket.

For a 2D version of this card, check out my previous post.

Filigree Woven Heart

More print-and-cut paper weaving. The designs are engineered to fit on the heart's weaving strips. You can choose to cut out the mini-heart motifs or keep them as printed features. A gift tag is included, so you can write something corny like "I fancy you".

Here's your free fancy filigree woven heart (instructions on the page):

If cutting by hand, take care to snip the weaving strip cutting lines into the semi-circular border at the top.

Enjoy weaving your woven heart Valentine.

Woven Valentine Hearts

Danish woven hearts are traditionally for Christmas - but hearts are for Valentine's Day - so here's a print-cut-and-weave heart for you. The hanging loop is incorporated into the pattern template.

Here are your free designs:

Even though the weaving strips are irregularly shaped, you just weave them over-under-over in the usual way. Just look - and think - before you weave. You can opt to cut out the central heart motif or keep it as a printed feature.

Happy paper-weaving! :D

Russian Doll Stand-up Card

One,two, three, four! Here's a cute dinky card inspired by nested Matryoshka dolls (can't get enough of them). The card stands up by itself - so it would make a sweet party favour at a kids' party place setting.

Here's your free print-and-cut card:

There's nothing much to know about making the card. Print, cut, fold, slide the tabs together. If you are hand-cutting the PDF version, cut the tabs on the bottom carefully with a craft knife (adults, only!).

Valentine Treat Box

Here's a quick-make sweet treat container for Valentine's Day. Not quite a milk carton, it is easy to assemble. The cut-out feature on the front adds interest.

Valentine Bell Jar Sliceform

As you can see, I am still on my sliceform binge. Today I have a fun-to-make Valentine - a bell jar with a Scandi heart inside. Go 3D and send a papercraft surprise!

Here is your free design:

To make - print, cut. Glue like shapes back-to-back. Slot the bell jar pieces together at the centre, then slot the hearts - two with downward slots to either side. Turn the bell jar over and slide in the remaining hearts.

3D Valentine

Here's a headstart on Valentine's Day - a postable 3D Valentine sliceform. The components easily slot together and fold flat. It fits into a C6 envelope. Tag and charm included.

Here's your free print-and-cut Valentine heart:

To Make:

Print the template on 160gsm photocopier card. (The finished model will look nicer if you pick up a colour from the design and print the flip side of the card with it first. Or, you could glue all the the side pieces in back-to-back pairs so they are double-sided.) Cut out the pieces, taking extra care with the slots. Glue the big heart back-to-back.

To assemble the sliceform, slot the side pieces without Love X on either side, facing outwards. Next, slot in the Love X pieces. Downward slots and upward slots interlock.

Enjoy making your simplified sliceform heart! :D

Recipe Tabs

I like to store the recipes I print off from the internet in a binder. I put them into clear plastic page protectors - but then commercially-available dividers don't work - the tabs aren't visible beyond the edges of the page protectors. Problem solved! Here are dividers that you can stick directly onto the page protector sides - or onto the top edges of the card within the page protector.

Here are your free print-and-cut recipe tabs:

Use double-sided tape to attach the tabs. Stagger the position of the tabs. Have fun organizing your recipes. :D

Thanks Pop-Up Card

This might just come in handy right now - a print-and-cut Thanks pop-up card:

ThanksPop-Up2of2.pdf

ThanksPop-Up1of2.svg

ThanksPop-Up2of2.svg

The cards are easy to make - simply take care cutting, scoring, and folding the insert. The colour areas act as your guide. (I always find that the trickiest bit is remembering to fold the two little valley folds to either side of the main pop-up.) When you have folded the pop-up, attach it inside the cover, matching edges and centre fold. A few strategically-placed bit of double-sided tape will do the trick.
And it is not too late to send this sliceform New Year's greeting - if you are quick!

Have a happy, craft-y 2019!
