Here's a pretty little heart-shaped basket for sweet treats. The v-shaped accordion pleats give it a bellows look. The baske is open, but you can tie
the handle shut with a ribbon.

The trickiest part of making the basket is folding the accordion V-shape. To make things easy for you, the pleated section is colour-coded. Score the lengthwise pleats, then crease them both directions. Score the zig-zag lines in the centre, then pre-crease them. Practice folding the V-shaped accordion. When you get to the centre, pop the fold in the opposite direction.
To assemble the basket, use d/s tape to attach the hearts to the front and back of the V - then add the handle at top.

Folded Heart Embellishment 2
I hope that you liked the Folded Heart Embellishment in my previous post, because today I am ramping things up a level. This folded heart has pretty heart-shaped petal turn-backs. If you mastered the folds of the previous heart embellishment, you'll know what to do.
Here's your free embellishment:

When making the heart, the secret to success is scoring and pre-creasing all the folds - then everything will fall into place during the actual folding. Make sure you score and fold across the base of each heart turn-back: a horizontal line across the top of the template. I use a fine-point embossing tool held against a small metal ruler. You may want to secure the join on the back of the heart with a snip of magic tape.
Happy heart-folding! :)

Folded Heart Embellishment
Here's a fun print-and-cut Valentine embellishment that I've engineered for you - a foldable patchwork heart. The heart can be used as a cardtopper, gift embellishmet, or decoration. It can be folded either of two ways - tabs in (for a swirly effect) or out (for a more tailored look).

Boingy Valentine Pop-Up
Here's a fun Valentine that you can make either as a surprise card or as a freestanding greeting. The zig-zag folds are fun to do and give the design bounce.

To make the boingy heart:
1 Print onto photocopier card.
2 Score the folds using a fine-point embossing tool held against a metal ruler.
3 Cut out.
4 Crease the folds as shown in photo.
5 Glue the two lowest triangles onto the base - this adds stability.
6 If making a freestanding boingy Valentine, glue the square on to weight the base.
To make the card:
1 Print onto photocopier card.
2 Cut out, carefully cutting the closure tab.
3 Fold the right side of the front cover back. Glue the purple trim onto the turnback, if desired.
4 You can either crease the card spine or leave it as a soft, matchbook-style fold.
5 Glue the pop-up heart onto the centre of the inside card back. Close the tab.
Enjoy folding and giving your boingy Valentines. :)

Valentine Gift Box
Here's a folk art-style Valentine gift box with a swirl-close top. Just big enough for sweet treats. There's a gift tag, too.

Thanks Pop-Up Card 2
ThanksPop-Up.pdf
ThanksPop-Up.svg
This card has an impressive stepped design, so of course, you must take more care cutting it out. Score the crosswise folds after cutting the indicated lines. The two hash marks on either side of the card indicate the centre fold, which extends only as far as the pop-up cuts. Remember to cut the top of the rose and top of the leaf as indicated. Use the photo as a guide to fold placement.
Wishing you a Happy New Year of papercrafting! :)
